As part of registering with i3Soft, we collect personal information about you in order for you to take full advantage of i3Soft’s services. To do this it may be necessary for you to provide additional information to i3Soft as detailed below.

Registration

Registration for i3Soft services allows you to take advantage of more of the tools and resources to assist you with any documents you may require. Registration includes submitting your name, email address, address, company or business details, telephone numbers and your health practitioner registration number, You may access this information at any time by using My Settings: My Details.

Forum use and chat rooms

Use of forums and chat rooms use is limited to registered members only. You may choose a pseudonym by which your entries will be visible to other members of the website. Consider any information you enter in forums and chat rooms to be publicly available. It is your responsibility to ensure the confidentiality of any patient information you divulge on the forums and chat rooms. If you have doubts review the PSA has a Code of Ethics for Pharmacists

Use of forums and chat rooms may be analysed, aggregated and disseminated, but no personally identifiable information will be used without express written consent.

Communications from i3Soft

i3Soft may from time to time may provide you with selected information about our and website changes in our email newsletter. This free service is sent to registered users and provides the option of opting out of receiving these by changing your preferences in "My Settings:Preferences". i3Soft may also make you aware of additional products and services which form part of your relationship with i3Soft.

As a commitment to improving service delivery from time to time i3Soft users may be given short surveys about current or future services. These data will not be personally identifiable, and will be aggregated before dissemination. Participation in these surveys will be entirely voluntary.

Sharing of your personal information

We will not divulge your personal, financial or identifiable patient information with other parties.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will use for these new purposes only, data collected from the time of the policy change forward will adhere to our updated practices.

We hold personal information in a number of ways, including in electronic databases, email contact lists, and in paper files held in drawers and cabinets, locked where appropriate. However, i3Soft will not be held responsible for events arising from unauthorised access of your personal information. You can also play an important role in keeping your personal information secure, by maintaining the confidentiality of any password and accounts used on the i3Soft site.

Use of government related identifiers

i3Soft's policy is not to:

  • use a government related identifier of an individual (such as a Medicare number or driver’s licence number) as our own identifier of individuals; or
  • Disclose such a government related identifier, unless this is permitted by the Privacy Act (for example, where the use or disclosure is required or authorised by or under an Australian law or a court/tribunal order).

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Security

i3Soft implements ICT security (such as encryption, firewalls, anti‑virus software and login and password protection), secure office access, personnel security and training and workplace policies to protect your personal information.

Credit card payments

i3Soft processes purchases of services using EFTPOS and online technologies. i3Soft’s policy is to ensure that all transactions processed by i3Soft meet industry security standards to ensure payment details are protected. Credit card details are not accessed or stored by this website.

Website security

i3Soft strives to protect the personal information and privacy of website users, though we cannot guarantee the security of any information that you disclose online and you disclose that information at your own risk. You can also help to protect the privacy of your personal information by keeping passwords secret and by ensuring that you log out of the website when you have finished using it. In addition, if you become aware of any security breach, lease let us know as soon as possible. Links to third party websites that are not operated or controlled by i3Soft are provided for your convenience. i3Soft is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of those websites, which are not covered by this Privacy Policy. Third party websites should have their own privacy and security policies, which we encourage you to read before supplying any personal information to them.

Storage of Patient Information

i3Soft is committed to the National Privacy Principles, in particular with the handling of sensitive patient information. In line with NPP9, the i3Soft website is situated in Australia.

i3Soft takes best efforts to ensure the privacy of all patient information. However the collaborative nature of the website allows you to share patient information with other pharmacists. It is your responsibility you only share patient information with those who should be able to see it to provide pharmaceutical care to those patients.

i3Soft is also committed to medical research and patient-data collected by this website may be used in a de-identified form by Australian Universities conducting medical research. Access to de-identified data will only be granted to researchers who have completed the necessary ethical approvals for handling health information for research purposes without individuals' consent. The guidelines are produced under sections 95 and 95A of the Privacy Act. These guidelines are:

  • Guidelines under Section 95 of the Privacy Act 1988, which set out procedures that HRECs and researchers must follow when personal information is disclosed from a Commonwealth agency for medical research purposes.
  • Guidelines under Section 95A of the Privacy Act 1988, which provide a framework for HRECs to assess proposals to handle health information for health and medical research (without individuals' consent). They ensure that the public interest in the research activities substantially outweighs the public interest in the protection of privacy.

Access to Your Information

Unless you become a registered i3Soft user, i3Soft does not collect information that identifies you personally. If however, you become a i3Soft registered user, you are able to change and update your registered profile at any time.
